Do you have little fitness and would you like to learn how to run properly without injuries? Then a beginners course is for you. Under the guidance of a professional trainer, you will work on your fitness and running technique so that you can run for 30 minutes at a time after the course.


How to start running

A common cause among novice runners is that they often start with too long distances or at too high a pace, which quickly makes running unpleasant and runners become demotivated. At Running Amsterdam the focus is on 'fun in running' and 'injury prevention'. By starting responsibly with appropriate distances and a leisurely running pace, you will stay motivated and start to enjoy running. Everyone doesn't feel like it sometimes. Running in a group helps and motivates, even when you don't feel like it.

Everyone has to start somewhere and everyone's beginnings are different. At Running Amsterdam we take this into account and offer you as a novice runner the personal guidance you need. Runners have their own pace, and that applies to you too. Our running trainers pay attention to your running level and together you determine what pace suits you best. This is the start of finding joy in running and achieving your personal goal(s). Because running is for everyone!


The purpose of the course 'Starting with running'

After the 'start running' course you can run continuously for 30 minutes. Running is wonderful and is the ideal way to work on your fitness in a simple and accessible way. Starting to run is always a hurdle and that extra push from Running Amsterdam helps you achieve your end goal.

Whether it is working on fitness, gaining running experience, injury prevention or working on a healthier lifestyle... Together you work as a group towards that goal of 30 to 40 minutes of continuous running and that is what you do it for! If you have little fitness, no running experience, are afraid of injuries or simply want to adopt a healthier lifestyle, then the running for beginners course is for you.

What can you expect from the Beginners Course?

Over the course of 13 weeks, you will be guided in running during each training session under the guidance of a professional running trainer. During the training, attention is paid to running technique, strength and injury prevention. This way you learn to walk responsibly and prevent injuries. This is how you stay motivated! You will also receive a running schedule for beginners every week to train alone or together with your new running buddies, because you will undoubtedly meet running buddies. During the last week you will cross that finish line together with 30 minutes of continuous running! That is a fantastic victory over yourself and creates a close bond with the group. And you can certainly be proud of that!
